Copyright inquiries
Bitescience is based in the Netherlands and is therefore subject to Dutch Copyright Law. The Bitescience Research Updates are based on the research facts reported in academic sources (i.e., journal articles, conference papers, and books). Facts are not copyright protected. The Bitescience Research Updates are therefore original articles and do not violate copyright law in any way. To accommodate scientists and publishers, each Bitescience Research Update refers to the academic report of the research.
If a copyright owner or its authorized agent ("Complainant") has a good-faith belief that its works are being infringed by material subject to Bitescience's control, a complaint can be submitted to Bitescience.
Bitescience kindly requests that such notification contains at least the following information:
- An electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of Complainant;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit Bitescience to locate the material;
- The Complainant's full legal name, address, telephone number and, if available, an email address at which Complainant may be contacted;
- A statement that Complainant has good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statemen that the information in the notification is accurate and that Complainant is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Bitescience will investigate the subject of a proper notice. If appropriate, Bitescience will remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the entity that submitted such material ("Respondent").
